About the Consecutive Decline Limit
As your own boss, you have the right to decline any delivery opportunity. However, multiple consecutive declines cause order delays and means "the best available Dasher" will be further and further from the merchant. The resulting long distance deliveries are not a good experience for Dashers, Merchants, or Customers.
These multiple declines often stem from Dashers who are abusing the platform, or who have simply forgotten to pause or log out of a dash when they are finished, taking a break, getting gas, or performing work on another platform.
Thus, to prevent abuse and ensure the platform continues to function efficiently, DoorDash will automatically log you out of a dash if you decline three consecutive delivery opportunities. Of course, you are always free to log out of, or pause, a dash for any reason.
